Alright can we just ignore Kanye West's recent political views and just marvel at his innovative and daring musical career.
This blog will help revise the journey Kayne West took to get to the throne of being one of the most influential artists of this era. This will be broken down into two posts. 1st blog will be the rise of the rap icon Kanye West certifying his legacy in the rap industry. 2nd blog will be Kanye West's obession to climb higher mountains and how Kanye West became Yeezus.
2004 saw him drop his debut album 'The College Dropout'. This was the first i heard of Kanye West and i still remember it to this day, his rap flows, lyricism and smooth beats were a unique combination that still makes me go back to my old playlist and play these songs. It got a nomination for a Grammy award for best rap album as well as going 3x platium. Which is unheard of getting a debut album nominated for a grammy which set the tone for Yeezy's career path. the single to kick start his career was ' Jesus Walks' where he talks about USA media aviods promoting songs about religion whilst promoting songs about acts of violence, gangs and sex.

A year later Yeezy got his grammy award for best rap album of the year with the album called 'Late Registration'. Which used a underlying theme of orchestra samples to incorporate into his songs. Results were amazing, i haven't heard anything like it before and instantly fell in love with the mixture of hip hop and the instruments of an orchestra. His most chart topping song came in the form of 'Gold Digger' ft Jamie Foxx, this song helped launch Jamie Foxx's career into the established artist he is today.

After a 2 year hiatus, Kanye West released 'Graduation' this album sets a significant change in mainstream rap as this album marked the end of gangsta rap as the most popular sub genre in hip hop, as the album out sold a very popular artist in 50 Cent. Also in receiving his Grammy award for best rap album solidifying Kanye's status as one of the best rappers of his generation. 'Homecoming' was his 2nd last song on the album, and tells a tale of his regret of leaving his hometown of Chicago to chase his dream of a musical career. which is such a good track with the keyboard and feature of Coldplay's Chris Martin.

After his third album Kanye West was king of the rap jungle, so what happens when he gets bored at the top, he seeks other competition in other areas. On the next blog we continue to keep up with Kanye West rise to the top.
